The Homology of Banach and Topological Algebras by A. Ya. Helemskii
English | PDF | 1989 | 352 Pages | ISBN : 0792302176 | 32.1 MB
This book is divided into two parts. They are the main part (Ch. III - VII) and the preparatory part (Ch.O - II). This division reflects the two aims of the book.
The aim of the main part is to acquaint the reader with the homology theory of "the algebras of analysis": these are Banach algebras, and closely related topological algebras. By now, solutions have been obtained for a number of important problems, and the theory itself has to a considerable extent acquired a definitive shape. At the same time the subject has developed wide connections with, and applications to, other parts of mathematics. So it seems to me that the time is now "ripe" for a monograph on the subject.
