American Civil War Source Book

This book aims to cover every aspect of the American Civil War in detail: military organization, chains of command, pay structures, training and recruitment methods, as well as providing a record of the arms and battledress for both sides. It also contains biographies of the major players plus a section of anecdotes and memoirs by those who were there. The format has been designed to make it accessible to the casual browser as well as to the dedicated historian.
