Theo Wilkins (Edward G. Robinson), a disgraced American science professor, recruits Paul Mason (Rod Steiger), a thief who has recently been released from jail, to help him with one final heist on the French Riviera. Theo's crack team also includes Melanie (Joan Collins), a beautiful dancer, and Poncho (Eli Wallach), a saxophonist.
