Lawrence Archer is back in action with the reunited GRAND SLAM! His solo album, previously only released in Japan, is now officially reissued as a two-disc set! GRAND SLAM's leader, composer, and guitarist, Lawrence Archer, released his latest album, "Wheel of Fortune," in 2024. At the same time, a revised version of his 2019 debut album, "Hit the Ground - Revisited," was also released in Japan (both on Rubicon Music). GRAND SLAM was formed in 1984 by Phil Lynott and Lawrence (formerly of Stampede) after the breakup of Thin Lizzy. Despite their active live performances, the band was unable to secure a record deal within the scene at the time, leading to their disbandment. Phil passed away in 1986. Grief-stricken, Lawrence embarked on this solo album, "LA."

Lawrence composed the album, played guitar and vocals, and recorded it with drummer Zak Starkey (famously the son of Ringo Starr, now of THE WHO!) and keyboardist Mark Stanway (Magnum/Grand Slam). Released exclusively in Japan in 1986, the album has since become an absolute must-have for fans worldwide, and remains a rare find on both CD and LP.

This Japanese reissue of "LA" for the first time in 39 years includes, with Lawrence Archer's permission and cooperation, 10 tracks from the 1987 album "LA Secrets," recorded with singer Peter Scallan (formerly of Samson, Moritz, etc.), which includes new material and the original "LA" tracks. Disc 2 also includes two previously unreleased instrumentals Lawrence composed between 1989 and 1990. The two-disc set is housed in a beautiful gatefold jacket.

2-CD set in a gorgeous gatefold paper jacket that surpasses the LP jacket reproduction. Includes liner notes, lyrics, and translations. Commentary by Yamazaki Tomoyuki.
