Greg Foat and Forest Law (Brownwood, Bongo Joe)collaborate on an epic concept album about Life, Death, Painting and Surfing. Inspired by the art and life of a local Isle of Wight artist and surfing legend Dave Gray. The album philosophically chronicles the many aspects of surfing and surf communities.

Road to Utopia is the thirty-first album by space rock band Hawkwind, released in 2018. It features new acoustic versions of the band's 1970s repertoire with two new compositions. Trumpeter Colin Steele has been a doyen of the Scottish jazz scene for almost thirty years, and his joined his first jazz group the John Rae Collective almost a decade earlier. Hlíf Sigurjónsdóttir was born in Denmark, of a Danish mother and Icelandic father, and grew up in Iceland. Having begun her pianistic career as a child prodigy, Clara Josephine Wieck con­tinued her path after marrying Robert Schumann in 1840. She subsequently appeared as a performer and composer under the name Clara Schumann, which is used in the following text.

Peter Bernstein really makes things kick here – thanks to a hip quartet that features Richard Wyands on piano, John Webber on bass, and Jimmy Cobb on drums! With a rhythm section like that, the session better cook – and it does so nicely, in the open freedom of the Smalls Live setting – with some long tracks that are awash in extended, exploratory solos from Bernstein – really showing off his skills on the guitar in a way you don't always get on some of his solo sessions, often with a nice raspy edge that reminds us of Kenny Burrell at his best from years back. Titles include the originals "Vida Blue" and "Sideburns" – plus "Say Little Mama Say", "Love Walked In", and "Stairway To The Stars".
